doodlebug is getting organized to kick-off its "crafty recycler" effort - beginning at the San Anselmo Art & Design Festival on July 14 & 15, 2007. We'll have a variety of samples for sale - including items made using recycled textiles, paper and ceramics. We'll also have some "ingredients" available for those of you who may want to experiment with some projects of your own - old linens, assembled paper bags for book-making, yarns, fabrics, buttons, trims and more. We hope to see you at the festival on San Anselmo Avenue! As we get closer to the date we'll try to add some photos of pieces that will be available - just for inspiration!

We hope to have new space open on about October 10 - behind the store, upstairs over the garage - we'll have vintage fabrics, buttons, trims, and linens. We'll also be adding classes that'll help you get started using all these wonderful materials. From messenger bags to baby quilts, pillows to purses - not to mention all the great mixed-media, book-making and decoupage projects we have in mind. We purchased a lot of buttons and ribbons from Beth when she closed "Buttons & Bows" (we share everyone's sense of loss about that, by the way!) and hope to get Beth in to teach some ribbon flower making classes and maybe some belt-designing projects as well.
Looking forward to many fun hours in the new grown-up playhouse at doodlebug!
Take care.
